Draw-A-Day Thursday 9th May – The Scream

Now to Norway, and a huge influence for German Expressionism: Edvard Munch, who was painting at the turn of the 20th century.  He used psychological themes in his paintings, most notably in his masterpiece, and one I am sure you will all recognise: The Scream.

This will be a similar exercise as yesterday, in that he uses swirling lines to express his emotions, but I think it is a painting which lends itself well to being re-created in ten minutes with a pencil (or crayons!)
